Anastrozole Effect

Anastrozole can be referred to as an aromatase inhibitor which helps prevent estrogen production in females. Research has shown that the estrogen hormone is responsible for the creation of breast cancer tumors in women. Anastrozole is the drug administered to intercept the enzyme aromatase, which is a substance that assists the body tissues in producing estrogen. Anastrozole is a popular drug in the battle against breast cancer. It is by and large, a hormonal treatment which can prevent the recurrence of breast cancer. Anastrozole, also known as Anastrozole is not a steroid.

Anastrozole is known to have diminished estrogen way too much in some patients. This is why blood tests or salivary tests are recommended after a week of usage to determine whether the dosage is appropriate.

Anastrozole tends to work quite differently than the traditional anti-estrogens. Anti-estrogens like Clomid or Nolvadex tend to intercept estrogen receptors in certain tissues while activating them in others. Meanwhile, Anastrozole directly intercepts the enzyme aromatase. When a patient has been recommended the use of Anastrozole, Clomid use along with is unnecessary. Doing so may have some benefits.

Anastrozole is generally used for all stages and forms of breast cancer which are classified to be estrogen receptor positive. In case the patient has estrogen receptor negative or triple negative cancer, the usage of Anastrozole is unlikely to help.

How does Anastrozole work?

Anastrozole generally works by blocking the aromatoze enzymes, facilitating the decrease in the production of estrogen in the human body. With the decrease in production of Anastrozole, the risk of exposure to breast cancer is eliminated. This procedure of treating breast cancer is known as hormonal therapy.

Anastrozole Dosages

Dosages of Anastrozole will vary from person to person. This is why blood work is essential to finding the perfect balance. One should start out at half a mg every other day and adjust as needed for the cycle. Some AAS users will not use an AI at first but they will have it on hand just in case. This isn't always a good idea, as once you start noticing gyno or excessive water weight it could be too late to reverse. Since AAS will continue building in the body and aromatize (steroids turning into estrogen), taking Anastrozole at this point would be like trying to stop a car already in motion.

General dosages for men: 0.5mgs per day or every other day. Remember, it's steroid dose dependent.
